2.2 Visit to the Opening of the Singapore Arts Festivals


The main highlight of the event was the coming out of the Helios II, a big chunky Mantis looking mechanical vehicle, that carries musician at the back of it, at first i was impressed with the arrival and entrannce of the Helios II.


But the subsequent performance after that wasn't that impressive, there was some juggling and skipping ropes act by performers walking on Stilts, they were not impressive, the performance was executed with full of mistakes, for example, uncoordinated juggling, falling from rope entanglement when skipping the ropes. Only the Gymnastic performance on the loops and ropes saved the events from ruin.


The gymnastic routine was executed with grace and beauty comparable to performers of Cirque Du Soleil equivalent. The opening then ended with loads of fireworks which were full of pattern and beautiful.



Overall it was only Mediocre the way the event is being run, the opening doesn't leave much impression on me, as most of the performance with the exception of the gymnastics were performing at a ridiculously low standard, and the activities and there were little variety of performance before the main event of the opening giving me an impression that i am wasting my time as there were nothing much to patronised about and for the most part of the main event were performed way below standard for a National wide event.
